The western end of Lake Edersee near Herzhausen is around 12 km from Korbach. Waldeck with its castle above the lake is about 25 minutes away by car, the dam near Hemfurth around 35 minutes.

Waldeck Castle with its view across the lake, the dam, the treetop walk and the Edersee wildlife park near Hemfurth and the national park centre in Herzhausen combine easily into a day trip from Korbach.
Kellerwald Edersee National Park
The ancient beech forests of the national park are part of the UNESCO World Heritage. Hiking trails start at the national park centre in Herzhausen, among other places, around 12 km from the hotel.
By bike to Lake Edersee
The Ederseebahn cycle path starts on the southern edge of Korbach. For around 26 km the paved, car free former railway line runs with gentle gradients, two short tunnels and several viaducts to Buhlen near Affoldern. There it connects to the Eder cycle route, and side routes lead to Waldeck and the dam. Bicycles can be stored safely in the hotel, and e bikes can be charged at our bike station.
Willingen and the Sauerland
Willingen is around 23 km away, Winterberg around 31 km: for hiking and cycling in summer, for skiing in winter.
The lake by day, Korbach in the evening
From the hotel you walk straight into the Goldbad Korbach, and admission to the indoor pool with its 25 metre lanes is free for hotel guests. Sauna and brine bath are available at a special rate. The historic old town of the Hanseatic city of Korbach is a five minute walk away, parking is free and electric cars charge at two 22 kW charging points.
