Lake Edersee 12 km away
The western end of the Edersee at Herzhausen with the national park centre is about 12 km from the hotel, Waldeck Castle overlooking the lake is 25 minutes away, the dam at Hemfurth 35 minutes. Swimming in the lake, pedal boats, the treetop walk, the wildlife park and the beech forests of the Kellerwald Edersee National Park are all within a day trip.
When the weather at the lake does not play along
Rain, cool days or a low water level in late summer: with the pool at the hotel, the swimming day is saved. Children splash in the non swimmer area, you swim lengths in the sports pool or go to the sauna. That is the difference to a hotel right on the lake, where everything depends on the weather.
Large room, fair price, family run
All 39 rooms are 28 m², with Netflix, Chromecast and fast WiFi. Families get adjoining rooms and free cots, and we set up the sofa bed for a third person on request. Breakfast with homemade jams and honey from our own beehives from 6:30 am, free parking. The Weis family has run the hotel since 1997, the old town is a five minute walk away.

Gutes Hotel für Unternehmungen rund um den Edersee und das Umland. Sehr schön gestaltet und ansprechend eingerichtet. Schwimmbad und Sauna können mit benutzt werden, allerdings weiß ich nicht ob für die Sauna ein Entgelt erhoben wird. Frühstück… More reichlich und mit guter Auswahl. Personal sehr freundlich. Alles in allem ein schönes, gutes und vom Preis her moderates Hotel welches man guten Gewissens auch Geschäftsleuten empfehlen kann, da Konferenzraum vorhanden.
Hervorragend für Ausflüge zum Edersee und in den Nationalpark Kellerwald zum Wandern! Dieses Hotel ist perfekt gelegen um die genannten Ziele auch ohne Auto zu erreichen, Bushaltestelleb direkt vor dem Haus, in wenigen Minuten am Korbach… More Hbf und von dort dann mit Bahn oder Bus in ca 40 Minuten zu verschiedenen Destinationen am Edersee, u.a. Nationalpark Zentrum oder auch nach Kassel. Vorteil ist dass man hier zugleich die wunderschöne historische Stadt hat, mit Kino und Restaurants etc. Lobby toll renoviert und gekühlt (die Zimmer erst ab nächsten Jahr). Hervorragendes Frühstück. Man kann gratis direkt ins öffentliche Schwimmbad über einen Gang im Gebäude. Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Großer Parkplatz für Autofahrer. Alles picobello. Ganz klare Empfehlung!!
Tolles Hotel, sehr familienfreundlich obwohl es erstmal nach Tagungshotel aussieht. Sehr freundliches und professionelles Personal. Schöne, moderne Zimmer. Schönes Schwimmbad mit nettem Kleinkindbereich im Preis inkludiert. Für 10€ hätte… More man auch noch den Saunabereich benutzen können. Frühstück war hervorragend. Absolute Empfehlung!

Unser Zimmer war großzügig und gepflegt. Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Das Frühstück war gut.
